Our Crest:

Our School Crest tells the story of our school and it is a statement of what is important to our community. While it is the visual representation of our school, but it also reflects very clearly a set of values, beliefs, and relationships Windsor Hall stands for.

The central shield has 4 symbols:

Windsor Hall Non Nobis Solum

The Pacific Dogwood Flower: The Pacific Dogwood (Cornus nuttallii) was adopted in 1956 as British Columbia's floral emblem. Dogwood flowers are used as symbols of rebirth. Dogwood flowers are also connected to durability and the ability to withstand various challenges in life. Although the dogwood flower is small and delicate looking, it is surprisingly resilient.

The Open Book: Books are a timeless symbol of learning and knowledge.

Flames: Flames signify zeal and intense passion. It may be used to show that the bearer has undergone severe trials and came out on the other side victorious. Windsor Hall wishes to ignite in students a passion for learning.

The Lion: The lion is considered the king of the jungle forests. At Windsor Hall, it stands for strength, courage, honour and bravery.

The Colour Blue – Azure: Blue signifies a person’s unwavering loyalty, faith, truth, and strength.

The Olive Branches are one of the most recognized symbols of peace that the world knows. This important symbol also signifies harmony.

Our Motto: The spirit of Windsor Hall shines when the actions of students of all ages reflect their school motto, Non Nobis Solum – Not For Ourselves Alone. Each year the students of Windsor Hall raise funds for worthwhile causes. Students also strive to be global citizens, raising awareness of marginalized communities and participating in global aid and community projects.

Mx. Braydee Procillo

Born and raised in Anishinaabe/Métis territory (Winnipeg, MB), Braydee moved to BC in 2014 to pursue a Bachelor of Education degree at Vancouver Island University. With a passion for social justice, theatre, and working with youth, they have enjoyed being able to live, play, and learn in such a beautiful place. Since then, she has had the pleasure of teaching primary and intermediate grades on the unceded traditional territory of the Coast Salish First Nations (Surrey, BC.) They are very excited to continue working at Windsor Hall as a 6th-grade teacher!

Ms. Mirae Song

Mirae is an educator with a passion for mathematics. She graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Mathematics. Her academic excellence and enthusiasm for mathematics led her to the education program at UBC. Mirae was part of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP) cohort. She completed additional coursework and training to become an IB-certified educator, preparing her to teach in international schools and offer a global perspective to her students. The IB DP experience broadened her horizons and deepened her understanding of different teaching methodologies and educational systems. She gained practical experience by teaching abroad, which allowed her to immerse herself in diverse cultures and environments. She has joined the Windsor Hall team as a Math and Science teacher.

Mr. Daniel Hanley

Daniel was from an early age fascinated with the environment and the natural world. This led him to Ohio Wesleyan University where he majored in Biology and minored in Humanities Classics. Upon graduation Daniel decided he wanted to share his love for biological science with children so he went on to earn his Master of Arts in Science Education from Teachers College of Columbia University in NYC.

Daniel went on to become a tenured High School Teacher at the High School for Environmental Science in New York City.

Daniel has extensive experience as an educator and has since worked at various Independent schools such as Canada Royal Arts, St. John's Academy, the Westside School, and most recently Windsor Hall where he is taking on a new challenge as a 6/7/8 grade teacher working in a collaborative team.

Each of these experiences has helped inform Daniel's worldview and drive his passion for education and helping others succeed.

Richmond MYP

Ms. Mamuna Sarwar

Mamuna is an educator with over seven years of teaching experience providing learning support and leadership in an academic setting. She graduated from the University of Toronto with a Masters degree in Social Justice Education and previously co-founded an arts-based non-profit organization known as Word of Mouth. She is passionate about empowering BIPOC youth and adults to reach their full potential, and helping them navigate any real-world challenges and barriers they may face. As an educator, she uses an anti-oppressive and intersectional lens, while promoting ideas of the power of resistance, healing, and accountability in her classroom. She has joined our Windsor Hall team as a grade 7/8 teacher!

Richmond MYP

Mrs. Joyce Tong

Joyce Tong was born and raised in Manila, Philippines before moving to Canada at the age of 13. After a positive experience with her kindergarten teacher, Joyce was inspired to become a teacher. She pursued a Bachelor of Arts with a focus on English before completing a Bachelor in Elementary Education. In 2019, she was nominated for the Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence. Joyce believes that everyone has an impact, and this extends to her teaching style. She strives to create a classroom community where students feel safe, valued, and heard. She is excited to join the Windsor Hall team as a grade 7/8 teacher!
